Long night over, time to eat and relax.
The other day was one of two acknowledged as Britain’s national dish dishes, fish and chips. This morning is the other, chicken tikka masala.
Chicken Tikka Masala, Pilau rice, Bombay potatoes, chicken chaat samosas, chicken tikka samosas, onion & spinach bhajis, vegetable pakoras, chicken tikka skewers and bites, oh and a pint of Kingfisher.
Bang tasty.

Everything in the picture is amazing!
Except kingfisher. I never liked that beer...

I’m not a lager beer drinker but Kingfisher works really well with it.
I’ve a large bottle of Cobra and a large bottle of Tiger I may have afterwards.

“Other”? Dude, that is definitely the national dish.
This dish was probably the best premade food item in the refrigerated section at the little corner market outposts of Tesco in SoCal... It was also notable for being the only place that consistently carried West Country Farmhouse Cheddar (plus it was cheaper than other grocery stores, when they had it).
I’ll miss that place.

What is a good recipe for Tikka Masala? I have tried a few that I found on the internet but they always turn our pretty bland.

I tend to use Pataks tikka masala paste as a base and then add to depending on how I feel and what I have.
I always jig a recipe to suit taste.

Pilau rice is basmati rice, saffron, cinnamon, cardamom, bay leaves, cloves, etc...
I believe it’s supposed to be pronounced as peel’aw but many say pil’aw.
